Northern Kurrajong

Brachychiton diversifolius syn. populneus

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

A native of the tropical north of West Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland where it prefers light to medium, well-drained soils in a protected, semi-shaded position. It is drought and frost resistant.
An evergreen or deciduous tree growing to a height of 20 metres (60ft) metres with a spread of 4 metres (12ft). The stem is stout and tapering with rough, reddish-brown bark and a small, compact crown; the leaves are glossy, light green, ovate to lanceolate, deeply three lobed, 7.5cm long, with a long leaf stalk (petiole); the flowers are creamy white, broadly bell-shaped, occurring in the leaf axils in profuse small clusters in summer; the fruit are broad pods.

The plant gets the name ‘diversifolius’ because of the variation in leaf shape.

Offered is a packet of 10 seeds with Grownotes to assist you to propagate the Desert Kurrajong.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
