Crassula ovata

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List)

A succulent plant from South Africa where it lives on free-draining loamy soil in semi-arid areas. It is a large much-branched, compact, rounded, evergreen shrub usually 1-1.5 metres tall. However, it has been known to 5 metres given optimum conditions. It has dark-green, glossy rounded leaves towards the end of the branches and rounded heads of white tingd pink star-like flowers in the cooler months of the year.

The stems and branches are erect, stout 30-50 cm long and up to 20 cm in diameter. Bark is very attractive being smooth & silvery when young and turns a light glossy tan with age. Branches are grey-green when young turning glossy tan with age.

Propagation is considered very easy from both seed and vegetative parts. Bonsai beginners are trained in the technique using this plant as it so forgiving of poor treatment and conditions.

Offered is a packet of 30 seeds with Grownotes to assist you.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
