Spoon GourdCucurbita pepo cv(This plant is NOT on the Australian Noxious Weed List) There are over 100 genera and 700 species in the family Cucurbitaceae and they include pumpkins, squash and gourds of all shapes, sizes and colours. They are loosely divided into pumpkins, squashes and gourds but it is easy to get an argument – i.e. the Butternut is regarded as a squash along with the Zucchini. Gourds are a little easier to classify because they are defined as hard-shelled, durable fruit grown principally for ornament, utensils and general interest. The fruit remains green in its unripened state and colours once it reaches maturity. These gourds are often seen in large floral arrangements and fruit displays to give them an item of added interest. Despite being used as an ornament, this gourd can be used as a utensil. Offered is a packet of 15 seeds and Grownotes to assist you in propagation.
