Small-Leaved Tamarind

Diploglottis campbellii

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

Native to the coastal rainforests of Queensland and New South Wales, this small tree has dense evergreen foliage and produces an edible fruit used in savoury dishes.

Growing to a height of 8-10 metres with a spread of 6-8 metres, it prefers sun to part shade in well-draining soil and will not appreciate drought nor frost.

Besides the fruit, it is a lovely ornamental tree that will accept pot-culture and hedging and can be used as a windbreak.
