Yanchep Rose or Western Rose

A native of West Australia in an area immediately north of Perth extending to south of Geraldton on limestone based, light soils. It prefers an open, sunny position and is both frost and drought hardy.
An evergreen, erect shrub growing to a height of 1.5 metres (6ft) with a spread of 1 metre (39in), though it can also be a low spreading shrub. The stem is slender and hoary with a lightly textured crown; the leaves are narrow, alternate, blunt, entire with leaf margins recurved (curved backwards lengthwise); flowers are red to orange and pendant appearing June to October (southern hemisphere) and fruit are globular capsules.
