Echevaria agavoides hybrid
(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List)
Echeveria is a genus of succulents of over 150 species that are native to the semi-desert areas of Mexico, Central America and northwest South America. They are drought tolerant but prefer warmer temperatures so are useful as a houseplant. The genus has been extensively bred and hybridised.
Growing as a low, compact rosette, it can reach a diameter of 180 mm as a single stem and will attain greater diameter with multiple offsets. It always looks fresh and vigorous given the right care.
An evergreen plant, the leaves are thick, fleshy, mid-green with distinct purple highlights on the leaf margins when young, turning much darker with maturity.
Seed from hybrid plants does not always grow true to type because of genetic variation introduced by both parent plants.
Offered is a packet of 40 seeds with Grownotes to assist you to grow this unusual succulent.
