Echeveria is a genus of succulents of over 150 species that are native to the semi-desert areas of Mexico, Central America and northwest South America. They are drought tolerant but prefer warmer temperatures so are useful as a houseplant. The genus has been extensively bred and hybridised. Echevaria ‘Blue Rose’ is a native of Mexico.
Growing as a low, compact rosette, it can reach a diameter of 150 mm as a single stem and will attain greater diameter with multiple offsets. It always looks fresh and vigorous given the right care.
An evergreen plant, the leaves are thick, fleshy, have a delightful blue hue seasonally and flowers in Spring/Summer.
