 Eucalyptus albida

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

Native to south-western Western Australia, this tree is known as a mallee (multi-stemmed tree). Its habitat is only a very small area with very free-draining soil – it occurs nowhere else. It is thought that more specimens are grown in cultivation than in the wild.

Growing to a height of 1.5 to 4 metres, this mallee retains its juvenile leaves after maturity. It is the juvenile leaves that are sought after by florists as a filler. They are arranged in opposite pairs, are egg or heart-shaped and a lovely blue-green shade on both sides. The mature leaves are lance-shaped, dark green & glossy. Coppice regrowth is used for the production of juvenile leaves.

Offered is a 1 gram packet of seeds (includes chaff) with propagation notes. Buyers should read the disclaimer below.

DISCLAIMER.

All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translate to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
