A native of eastern Queensland where is prefers medium to heavy soils in an open, sunny position. It is considered an adaptable tree with potential for hardwood forestry plantations. With a habitat that covers Toowoomba to Monto, the Expedition Range and westward to the Blackall Tableland, this tree is adaptable to most soils and climate.
An attractive evergreen medium tree to 25 metres with a spread of 4 metres. The stem is slender, straight with high, spreading branches, smooth, powdery white to grey bark and open textured crown. The leaves are discolorous, glossy, dark green, above and paler on the underside. The flowers buds are oval distinctly pedicellate with a beaked operculum (cap) appearing axillary and terminally in groups of 7 while the flowers are white appearing summer to autumn.

All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translates to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.
