Eucalyptus olida – Strawberry Gum seed x100

A native of New South Wales with a restricted area in the Gibraltar Range National Park and is commercially cultivated in other areas. The tree provides an essential oil used for flavouring, the leaf is used in teas and as a spice. The tree grows 20-30 metres with a lignotuber, has a fibrous, flakey bark, egg-shaped juvenile leaves and sickle-shaped adult leaves. It was first discovered and named in 1990.

The tree is often hedged or coppiced to increase the foliage and give access when harvesting. Its limited habitat, unfortunately, results in a higher price for the seed.

DISCLAIMER.

All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions before seeds are set.  Standard industry practice offers 100 seeds per packet which translates to something like 5 to 10 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase the above seeds.
