Eucalyptus rosacea

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

A native of the Great Victoria Desert, this attractive mallee only grows to a maximum height of 4 metres with an equal spread. It is not well known in cultivation because of its remote location and difficulty in collecting seed. The Mallee’s are multi-stemmed with smooth stems clad in dark and light grey over pinkish-grey bark. The leaves are linear, dull, grey-green and the buds are pendulous and red. The flowers are a deep reddish-pink as soon as the bud releases its cap (operculum). The flowers are known to range from white to delicate shades of pink to a rich deep red. Plants have been known to flower at just 20cm tall.

Preferring sandy, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position, it is drought and dry cold hardy.

Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (includes chaff) along with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.

DISCLAIMER.

All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translate to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
