Northern Grey Ironbark

 Eucalyptus siderophloia

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

A native of the coastal plains of New South Wales and Queensland extending from Sydney to the central coast of Queensland.

An evergreen tree growing to a height of 45 metres (150 ft) with a spread of 5 metres (16ft). The stem is erect, with dark grey to black, finely furrowed, iron-hard bark persistent throughout and an openly textured crown; the leaves are soft, greyish-green, lanceolate, 8 – 15 cm long; the flower is creamy-white and held in groups of seven.

Grey Ironbark is a slow-growing, long-lived tree favoured by the Koala as a food source. The timber is hard, durable and used in heavy construction.

Offered is a 5 gram packet of approximately 650 seeds (with chaff) & propagation notes. Buyers should read the disclaimer below.

DISCLAIMER.

All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translate to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
