Strawberry Temptation

Fragaria ananassa cv

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

The strawberry cultivar ‘Temptation’ is a table or dessert strawberry which produces large, sweet fruit for use fresh or preserved.

This cultivar likes rich, light moist soils that have been amended with sifted leaf mould or composted/sifted cow manure. Sown seed should be lightly covered with the either of those same composts.

Strawberry plants begin to crop poorly in their third year, so they treated to a cropping cycle —

Year 1 – plant strawberry plants removing runners to force fruit production that year.

Year 2 – encourage runner growth to root in nearby soil/pots and grow on for year 3 planting. Remove spent plants.

Year 3 – prepare/compost strawberry beds and plant year 2 runners and remove new runners to force fruit production.

This system can be used for strawberry production in pots and beds.

Offered is a packet of 30 seeds with propagation notes.

All seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
