Gomphrena globosa – Globe Amaranth Tall Purple seed x100

The Globe Amaranth ‘Tall Purple’ will give you continuous colour from late Spring until the first frost in Autumn. A plant that is useful for bedding or border culture and as a dried colour-holding everlasting. For drying, cut the blooms as they are just opening and hang them upside down ion a warm, dark place to dry.

Growing to a height of 60 cm (24 in) in neat clumps of medium green which produce stiff, upright stems that hold bright purple, round, clover-like flower heads of purple bracts covering tiny yellow flowers. As cut flowers, these stems have a very good vase life.

Gomphrenas are easily grown from seed, require little maintenance and will reward you with months of flowering. Deadheading is only necessary when the blooms turn brown and the plant has few pests or diseases. Soil must be free draining to prevent root fungi.
