Common Sunflower
The Sunflower is a native of North & Central America. It has been bred, crossbred and developed into cultivars so many times I don’t think the ‘common’ plant exists. So common sunflower probably means the sunflower farm grown for its seed and oil gained from a single flowerhead. It grows to 2 metres tall.
Despite their flower size, sunflowers are suitable as a cut flower and will bring delightful colour to any garden bed. Easy to grow, it one for the children to learn with. Flowering is just 12 weeks from sowing.
Cultivation in full sun in prepared beds with an average water requirement is very easy.
Offered is a packet of 25 seeds with cultivation notes.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
