Leptospermum rupestre

This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.

A native of Tasmania where it prefers light to medium soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought and frost resistant.

An evergreen, prostrate shrub growing to a height of 0.5 metres (19in) with a spread of 1.5 metres (5ft). The stem is mat-forming with densely textured reddish branches; the leaves are glossy, dark olive green, smooth and 0.8cm long; the flowers are white, five-petalled and open, occurring profusely in the upper leaf axils in summer.

It is ideal as a groundcover plant or for rockeries.

Propagation by seed occurs readily.

Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes.
