A native of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria where it grows on the coastal plain and up into the near ranges where it likes heavy, moist soils, will tolerate shade and some drought. It is frost hardy down to minus 12 degrees C (zone 8).

An evergreen shrub to 6 metres (20ft) with a spread of up to 5 metres (16.5ft). It has an erect and branching stem with papery bark and a very dense crown of dark green leaves 1.2cm long. The flowers are white, profuse, loose fluffy clusters appearing in spring and summer.

Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (includes chaff) with propagation notes.
