Slender Honey-Myrtle

Melaleuca gibbosa

A native of South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania where it prefers light, moist soils in an open, sunny position and is salt and frost tolerant but dislikes drought.

An evergreen shrub growing to 2.5 metres (8ft) x 2 metres (6ft); the stem is erect, spreading and twiggy; the leaves are broad, ovate, spreading, opposite and 0.5cm long; the flowers are pinkish-purple, occurring in small, short, ovoid spikes and appearing from spring to summer.

Propagation by seed occurs readily.

 

Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes.
