The Pink Euodia (Melicope elleryana) was once known as Euodia elleryana and is often referred to as the Pink Flowered Doughwood. This evergreen, attractive small tree is a native of Queensland, Northern NSW, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Its habitat is moist rainforest, especially along streams.
Fast-growing, this tree needs well-drained soil, responds to fertilizer and watering in dry periods. It tolerates mild to moderate frosts but does not like strong winds.
Several species of butterflies are attracted to both flowers and leaves and it is a host for the Atlas butterfly. It is also attractive to birds.
This plant readily grows from seed.
