The Scarlet Emperor bean is a showy ornamental and edible climbing bean. The plant carries masses of scarlet flowers in slender clusters over the summer and autumn season. The flowers are followed by green, flattened pods that are tasty when young and older beans can be shelled and prepared like green lima beans.
A bean that tolerates part shade and cool conditions and is quick to provide Cover over porches, trellises, arbours of fences. The can also be grown on poles tied to form a teepee shape.
The seeds are quite large and require a padded bag for postage.
Offered is a packet of  15 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.
