Bacon & Eggs

Pultenaea villosa

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

An evergreen shrub native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia, it prefers light to medium soils in an open, sunny position.

A shrub to 1.5 metres with a spread of 2 metres, it is frost and drought hardy. Its pea-shaped flowers are bright yellow and red and quite striking. I don’t know why this plant has the common name of Bacon & Eggs but note many Pultenaeas are either called that or Bush Pea.

Offered is a packet of 50 seeds with propagation notes.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
