Swan Berry

Astroloma glaucescens

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

This  native, evergreen shrub lives in a broad coastal strip from Geraldton to Perth where it prefers light to medium, well drained soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought resistant but dislikes frost.

A pungent shrub, growing to a height of 0.6 metres with a spread of 1 metre. The stems, erect and compact, support a densely textured crown; the leaves are heath-like; the flowers are red, tubular, five petaled appearing in autumn and winter. The fruit are small berries.

The seed of this plant is rarely offered by the seed wholesalers because it is difficult to collect and therefore expensive.

Offered is a packet of 10 seeds and detailed Grownotes to assist you to grow this dainty plant.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
