Begonia tuberosa cv – Tuberous Begonia Cherry seeds x15

Tuberous Begonias are different to wax-leaf Begonias (B. semperflorens). They are excellent for borders, pots or window boxes too.

They can grow to a height of 15 – 25 cm (6-10 in) with a spread of 15-25 cm (6-10 in). Blooms can be up 100 mm (4 in) wide and come in various colours – White, Yellow, Red, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Pink, Scarlet, Salmon, Dark Red, Cherry and Deep Orange.

The Mocca Cherry produces very showy flowers on a plant with dark green to bronze leaves and a  mounding habit. Flowers appear in Spring and continue through Summer to the beginning of Autumn.  These Begonias prefer part early morning sun to shade and moist, but well-drained soil. They are almost drought tolerant but may need shade in the hottest part of the day to prevent the leaves from being scalded and yellowing. This particular hybrid is more heat resistant than other tuberous Begonias.

Tuberous Begonias require a little attention but they reward your efforts with a magnificent, long term floral display.
