A native of New South Wales, this strap-leaf clumping plant is often used by landscapers in rockeries or as a border plant. Tolerant of most soils, drought, frost and poor conditions, it is often seen in roadside plantings and native revegetation sites.
The flowers are small blue blossoms held just above the foliage, the subsequent fruit is a small round indigo coloured berry that persists on the plant for a long time.
This plant may be lifted and divided to increase your plantings.
The fruit of this species were eaten by the aboriginals (some species were not) and the leaves used to weave dilly bags.
