Dwyer’s Red Gum
(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)
Eucalyptus dwyeri is a small tree or mallee growing to 15 meters on raised sandstone soils. Its habitat is quite broad being the Hunter Valley, North, Central and Southern slopes and Western Plains of New South Wales.
A smooth-barked tree showing White, Cream, Grey, Orange and Brown patches with flowering recorded from September through to December. A known Koala food preference and is drought and cold-tolerant.
Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes. Buyers should read the disclaimer below.
All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translate to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
