Coastal Tea Tree
Leptospermum laevigatum
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.
An evergreen, tall bushy shrub to a small twisted tree growing to 6 metres (20ft) with a spread usually greater than its height.
It has been utilised as a revegetation species after sand mining and has naturalised in NE New South Wales and SE Queensland coastal areas and in West Australia. It is suitable for hedging or as a screen plant, tolerates frosts down to minus 7 deg C (10F) and is very resistant to salt spray. An excellent seaside tree or bonsai specimen.
Propagation by seed occurs readily.
Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes.
