Granite Honey-Myrtle

The Granite Honey Myrtle is a native of West Australia where it grows along the southern coast between Albany and Esperence and extends inland as far as Kalgoorlie. A medium shrub growing to 2 metres (7ft) with a spread of 1.5 metres, it prefers well-drained sandy or clay loams in an open, sunny position. It is drought and frost resistant.
An evergreen shrub of which the many-branched stem is rigid; the leaves are greyish-green, opposite, oval (elliptical), blunt, flat, thick, 1.2cm long and neatly held; the flowers are large, to 8cm long, red and showy occurring in oblong or cylindrical, lateral spikes and appearing in Spring and Summer.
This plant is reliable in reasonably drained soils. requires full sun and is considered easy to grow.
Offered is a 3.5 gram packet (approx 30000 seeds including chaff) with propagation notes.
