Winter Savory

Satereja montana

This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List

Native to the Mediterranean region, this herb has been used since Roman times and is now to be found in recipes all over the world.

An evergreen, woody shrub that grows to a height of 35 cm (15 inches) with a 30-60 cm spread. The 25mm leaves are highly aromatic, leathery and glossy and grow in opposite pairs along the stems. Small dainty flowers in mauve, pink and white appear throughout summer.

Cold hardy, the plant tends to go dormant in winter and may lose some mature leaves at the stem tips but these are soon replaced in warmer weather.

Offered as a packet of approx. 1000 seeds with grownotes.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
