Gold Dust Wattle
Acacia acinacea syn rotundifolium
The Gold Dust Wattle has a wide habitat extending from South Australia into South East Australia. It prefers light, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought-resistant and moderately frost tolerant.
An evergreen, medium shrub growing to a height of 2 metres (6 1/2ft) and an equal spread. The stem is erect and many-branched allowing for a very shapely crown; the phyllodes (leaves) are oblong to oblique (very variable) have a short leaf stem giving the appearance of hugging the branch, they are 1.5cm long; the flowers present in an odd arrangement of paired golden balls on long, slender stalks in Spring and Summer. This plant is a profuse flowerer.
