Actinidia chinensis

A native of China (heavily bred and marketed under the name Kiwi Fruit), this deciduous vine needs both male and female plants to produce fruit. It is frost resistant but drought tender.

The stem is woody and twining, the leaves heart shaped and dark green, paler underneath. The flowers are yellow and five petaled while the fruit is brownish, hairy berries.
