Cucurbit moschata

This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List

Butternut Pumpkin, often called Butternut Squash, is a relatively easy-to-grow plant if you follow a few simple rules. Preference is to sow direct into a prepared bed because the whole Cucurbit family very much resents root disturbance. Place a small stake beside the seed so you can find the watering point when the plant matures. If you must start them in put use biodegradable pots and plant pot and all in the transplant position thus avoiding root disturbance. Transplanting adds 15 days to plant maturity.

Butternuts have a sweet, delicate, nutty flavour and can be boiled, roasted or added to a host of recipes.

Offered is a packet of 10 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
