Red Kangaroo PawAnigozanthos rufus(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.) A clumping plant from the southern coast and inland of West Australia that is adaptable to most well-drained soils and is drought and frost hardy.A perennial plant that grows to 0.8 metres with a spread of 0.5 metres, it somewhat smaller than other Kangaroo Paw species. A clumping plant, the leaves are dull green, strap-like, with finely serrate margins; the flowers are burgundy-red, tubular with a light green throat, occurring in dense heads in summer.Offered is a packet of 50 seeds with Grownotes to assist you to grow this native plant.Note: Smoke treatment improves germination. Smoke treatment is the simple process of sprinkling treated vermiculite over the seeds and is available in my store.All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
