Green Kangaroo PawAnigozanthos viridis(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.) The Green Kangaroo Paw is a native of West Australia where it grows on a narrow coastal strip from halfway between Perth and Geraldton southwards to, but not onto, the West Australia south coast. It is a rhizomatous perennial that likes damp soils with a winter rain regime and is adaptable to light or heavy soils.Growing to a height of 0.6 metres with a spread of 0.5m (22 x 19in); it has a smooth, erect, flowering stem; the leaves are narrow, sheathing, almost cylindrical and 25cm (10in) long; the flowers are light green, 6cm long and occurring in compact heads of up to 15 flowers and appearing from Spring to Summer.This plant needs smoke treatment to germinate the seeds.Offered is a packet of 40 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.Note: Smoke treatment improves germination. Smoke treatment is the simple process of sprinkling treated vermiculite over the seeds and is available in my store.All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
