This native perennial lives mostly on the coastal plain between Perth and Geraldton in Western Australia where it prefers light to medium, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought-resistant but dislikes frost.

An erect shrub growing 0.25-1 m high. The stems are numerous supporting a densely textured crown; the leaves are heath-like; the flowers are white, tubular, five petaled appearing in autumn and winter. 

The seed of this plant is rarely offered by the seed wholesalers because it is difficult to collect and therefore expensive.
