This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List

A native of the north-east New South Wales and South East Queensland where it likes light to medium well-drained soils in a moist, shaded position. It is frost hardy but dislikes drought.

An small, evergreen shrub to 0.5 metres with a spread of 0.8 metres; its stem is slender, erect and branching; the leaves are green but take on a reddish hue in colder areas; the flowers are white, five petaled, open, star-shaped and profuse in winter and spring. The fruit are small, globular berries which were much sought after by the Aborigines.
