Bulbine glauca

A native of New South Wales, Victoria & Tasmania where it prefers light, moist soils in a protected semi-shaded position. It is frost hardy but drought tender.

A perennial plant growing to a height of 0.5 metres with a spread of 0.3 metres. The leaves are basal, succulent, narrow, 30cm long, blue-green and onion-like. The flowers are held on a narrow stem well above the foliage and usually, appear after rain.

The Australian Aborigine used the bulb for food.
