Wee Willie Mix
Dianthus barbatus cv
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.
Dianthus Wee Willie are hardy, perennial plants with scented flowers that are good for bedding, rockeries, baskets, planters etc. They are an ‘old-fashioned’ (almost heirloom) variety that prefer well-drained soils and should be given a raised bed if your soil is unsuitable. They are Spring/Summer flowering.
The Wee Willie Mix is a well known variety to gardeners. It is a dwarf, compact plant with fringed flowers (serrate petal margins) in a range of colours and a pleasant fragrance. The plants grow to 15cm (6 in.) tall with flower heads to 20 cm (8 in.) and have sufficient stem for use as a dainty cut flower. Flower colours are shades of pink and white with bicolors.
