Dolichos, Lablab, Hyacinth or Indian Bean
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List
With only one species in the genus Dolichos, this bean has a multitude of names, varieties & uses. Known as Indian Bean, Lablab Bean, Hyacinth Bean, Field & Pole Bean in English and an equal number in other languages. Varieties number about twelve and each is distinctive producing seeds that are creamy white, brown with white hylum and black with white hylum of various sizes. Uses are also varied being edible throughout much of the world, used for stock forage, silage and as a green manure.
I’ve even seen it called the 7 year bean but I think that is a misnomer the plant being an annual or short lived perennial.
Offered is a packet of 10 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
