(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)
A tree of eastern Australia that grows on swampy or waterlogged soils. Growing to around 20-30 metres (675-100 ft) in girth it is used for construction and firewood. The trunk and limbs are covered with thick reddish-brown bark which has a spongy feel and is shed in long narrow strips. The large, broad, mid-green leaves form a dense canopy and measure 10 to 16 cm (4-6.5 in) long and 2.7 to 4.5 cm (1.1-1.9 in) wide. Flowers are white to cream and occur in winter in clusters of seven to thirteen.
Offered is a 5 gramn packet (approx 9000 seeds includes chaff) with propagation notes. Buyers should read the disclaimer below.
All Eucalyptus/Corymbia seed is harvested from the wild under licence and is sold as a combination of fertilised/unfertilised (chaff) seed. In many cases, it is not possible to tell the difference. The ratio of fertilised seed varies greatly and depends wholly on weather conditions prior to seed set. Standard industry practice is to offer 200 seeds per packet which translate to something like 10 to 30 viable seeds (which have not been counted). If the above is not acceptable to you, please do not purchase any of the above seeds.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
