A native of south-eastern Australia from Queensland to South Australia, the Hardenbergia family are tough, showy little plants that can either be a gentle climber, sprawling scrambler or a bushy shrub climbing on itself.
Preferring heavy soils in an open, sunny position, this plant will survive frost, drought and salty conditions. It has wiry stems with dark green, leathery, lanceolate leaves 8cm long. The pea-shaped flowers are usually deep purple but white, pink and pale mauve forms are known.
The heavy, pendant, flower clusters appear in spring.
Offered is a packet of 20 seeds of the bushy pink form with grownotes to assist you to successfully cultivate this tough but dainty native.
