Native Indigo
Indigofera australis
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List
Native Indigo (Indigofera australis) is native to all States of Australia and deserves to be grown much more frequently than it presently is. A shrub growing 2 metres x 2 metres, it is very frost hardy, tolerant of drought, most soils (except wet soils) and will flower in either a sunny or shaded position. A really tough one!
The foliage is a pleasant blue-green year round and the leaves are fern-like giving the plant a fresh, tropical look. Large sprays of pinky-purple pea flowers (occasionally a rare white) cover the shrub in Spring and it spot flowers in summer.
Offered is a packet of 30 seeds complete with propagation notes.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
