A native of Brazil where it is adaptable to most soil types and positions. The Jacaranda is a well-known tree because of its beautiful floral display.
A briefly deciduous tree growing to 10 metres with a spread of 5 metres; its stem is sturdy and branching; the leaves are complex, bipinnate with 16 pairs of leaflets; the flowers are a bluish lavender carried in terminal panicles in summer.
When in flower, several Australian towns hold Jacaranda Festivals.
Offered is a packet of 20 seeds complete with propagation notes.
