A native of South Africa where it prefers light to medium, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position. It dislikes frost and drought.
A large, perennial, evergreen plant growing to a height of 2 metres with a spread of 1.5 metres; the stem is erect and flowering; the leaves are long, linear and greenish arranged in a basal rosette; the flowers are coral red and yellow, occurring in a dense, erect, terminal spike, 50 cm long.
Offered is a packet of 10 seeds and Grownotes to assist you to cultivate this hardy, succulent plant.
