Showy Honey-Myrtle
Melaleuca nesophila

A native of a small area of the south coast of West Australia between Esperance and Albany, where it prefers light to medium, alkaline, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position. It is considered drought and frost hardy.
An evergreen shrub growing to a height of 3 metres with a spread of 1.5 metres; the stem is smooth with a dome-shaped, medium-textured crown; the leaves are dark green, alternate, elliptical, broad, leathery, blunt and 2.5cm long; the flowers are mauve, gold-tipped, appearing in summer and autumn.
This shrub is perhaps the most cultivated of all the honey myrtles.
Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes.
