A native of West Australia where it prefers light to medium, well-drained soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought, frost and salt resistant.
The Chenille Honey-Myrtle (Melaleuca huegelii) is a large shrub to 5 metres high with dense foliage and clustered terminal flower spikes. Flower buds are purplish-pink changing to white flowers.
This plant is tolerant of lime, coastal exposure (salt) and extended dry periods. It performs well as a seaside garden specimen and in any garden for that matter.
Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (includes chaff) with propagation notes.
