Silver Mulla Mulla or Silver-Tails

Ptilotus obovatus

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

A native of the arid and semi-arid areas of mainland Australia. Silver tails is a dense shrub growing to 1 metre tall. The leaves grow to around 4cm long and 2cm wide. The Leaves and flowers are covered in hairs giving it a woolly appearance

It produces round clusters of pink tipped white flowers in winter through to summer. Flowering periods varies according to the locality and climate.

Preferring a sunny open position with well-drained, light to medium soils. it is also suitable for pot culture. While being drought hardy, it does not particularly like frost. 

This plant is the subject of trials as to its suitability as an export by the Australian cut flower industry.

Offered is a packet of 35 seeds with propagation notes.
