Agapanthus BlueAgapanthus africanusA native of South Africa where it is adaptable to most conditions, most soils but prefers an open, sunny position. It is both frost and drought hardy.A perennial clumping plant, it grows to a height of 1 metre (3ft) with a spread of 1 metre. The stem is erect and flowering, the leaves are dark green, glossy and strap-like; the flowers are blue and tubular, with up to 200 blooms occurring in large globular heads in summer.Propagation is easy by seed or by division of the clump.
