Pycnosorus globosus

A very attractive native perennial plant with long-stemmed golden globular flowers rising from a small rosette of woolly leaves from Spring through Summer. Long flowering they make an excellent cut flower with a long vase life and a good dried flower candidate.
Billy Buttons grow naturally on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range, the Western and Far Western plains of New South Wales and extends into Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. Tolerant of most soils providing they have little dampness, it is drought, frost and seaside planting tolerant.
Sometimes called Drumsticks this plant forms a clump to a flowering height of 0.5-1 metre (18-36 in) and will thrive in a warm or cold temperate, Mediterranean or cool sub-tropical climate. It is a low maintenance plant for gardens, courtyards, cottage gardens and rockeries. It is attractive to bees and butterflies.
