Regelia velutina – Gondwana Christmas Tree seeds x 25

A native of Western Australia where it prefers light, well-drained, acid soils in an open, sunny position. It is frost and drought tolerant.

An evergreen shrub to 3 metres with a spread of 2 metres it has an open-textured crown. The leaves are greyish blue and arranged in 4 rows along the stems. The flowers are scarlet-orange with gold tips occurring in terminal heads from spring to summer.

This seed requires smoke treatment to germinate which can be found by searching for ‘smoke treatment’ in my store. Smoke treatment is the simple process of sprinkling treated vermiculite over the sown seeds.
