This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.
Matricaria Snowball is a member of the Chrysanthemum family and it acts accordingly. Now called Tanacetum, they are long-day flowering plants that need 16 to 18 hours of daylight (or supplementary light) to flower.
It is an excellent cut flower with double Pom Pom flowers held above lacy, fragrant foliage with a good stem length. It has a long vase life.
Despite being grown heavily in the cut flower industry, it is also a good container and bedding plant. Grow in full sun (at least 6 hours) for best bloom production. This plant reseeds heavily and it should be dead-headed if you do not wish this to happen.
Growing 25cm high with a similar spread, the foliage is alternate, finely divided, light green and strongly aromatic. Flowers are small, double, white and prolific.
